The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

Lunalight was sitting patiently under the bare branches of an old oak tree. The sun could barely manage to shine through the grey clouds. The warrior yawned softly as she blinked few times. It has been a long time since she was a mentor. To be honest she did not have many apprentices but she enjoyed training with those who she had recieved.
The chocolate brown fae observed the place carefully. There were many things she could add in order to make the training more effective. But she decided to wait for her apprentice before strating something. The she-wolf got up and stretched her body, then raised her muzzle and took a breath. It felt good when the fresh air filled her lungs. The fae also caught the scent of some small prey. More and more opportunities for her apprentice. Luna once again observed the place this time to see if Icepaw is coming.

Icepaw trotted forward, his blue eyes glancing up towards the sky as he ran. Dark clouds appeared over the forest, and the apprentice wondered for a moment if it would snow. What happens to the river when it's cold? Does it freeze, or does it stay the same? Icepaw thought to himself, suddenly letting out a yelp as he found himself tripping over the root of a tree and falling to the ground. The wolf's icy blue eyes looked up, noticing Lunalight sitting next to a nearby oak tree. "Hi Lunalight." Icepaw murmured, standing up on his paws and shaking out his pelt. He hid any signs of embarrassment that he felt, instead glancing to his new mentor to see what she thought they should work on first.

Luna as still looking around when she spotted Icepaw. She smiled asshe waited for him to arrive when suddenly the fae rised up and looked at the apprentice worried. He tripped over a tree and fell on the ground which made the warrior go and help him. But he was quick enough to get on his paw. He seemed fine so the brown wolf could relief. "Hello, Icepaw." she smiled warmly as she greeted him.
"Ok, for today I've been planning to emphasize on offencive and deffencive fightning." the chocolate brown fae said as she looked at her apprentice. "Of course if you want to begin with something else feel free to tell me." she added as she took few steps forward to a clear arena where they may begin training.

Icepaw nodded at Lunalight's greeting, nodding once more as he heard Lunalight's response. "Fighting is alright with me; I haven't had much practice in that yet." The fluffy-furred apprentice replied. He padded forward after Lunalight as they moved into a clearing, his icy blue eyes glancing back to her as he wondered what they would work on first. Icepaw wasn't certain if he'd be good at fighting; even as a pup, he hadn't cared much for playfights. Hopefully fighting will be just like swimming. Icepaw thought.

Lunalight noded to her apprentice and continued walking. Then she stopped and looked at Icepaw. "Well first we will start with defensive fighting." she said. Then the chocolate brown fae quickly trotted on a distance of Icepaw and turned around. Now they were one against another. "The first thing I will start with is maybe the most simple move in a battle. It's called Duck and Twist or rolling over. Not only easy but a good way to avoide an enemy's swipe or grip." the fae explained.
Then she flicked tail as her ears twitched. "Now what I want from you is to attack me. Now crouching down so you can leap onto me." Luna said as she lowered her body a little, so she could prepair for her apprentice.

Icepaw nodded as Lunalight mentioned they'd be working on defensive fighting. His mentor had trotted out some distance, before explaining the move that they'd work on. Icepaw nodded as Lunalight mentioned what he should do next. "Okay, I'll try." The apprentice said, dropping down into a crouch. His fur brushed against the ground as he padded forward, stopping a few fox-lengths away from his mentor. Icepaw waited a few moments before leaping into the air, towards Lunalight.

Luna smiled and nodded at Icepaw, somehow assuring him that everything will be alright. The chocolate brown fae observed every of his move. In a situation like this it was necessary to judge the actions of your opponent to know how much time you have to react. Lunalight lowered her body, almost touching the ground, when her apprentice was on a few fox-lengths away from her. When he leaped it was time for the fae to make a move. She ducked then twisted around, rolling on her back. Luna was on a metre or two away from Icepaw, but it was enough to avoide his attack. Then the warrior leaped back on her paws. She smiled to her pupil as she spoke. "See how effective this move could be. Now, it's your turn." she shook the dust off her fur before trotting to the place he was a minute ago. "Now," she started "lower your body but not tightly to the ground, a paw-lenght between will be enough. Then try to observe my moves, so you can judge how time you do have for reaction. Remember no matter how fast the wolf is, you will be able to estimate how much time you have. It is important to see when your opponent jumps toward you, because that is the time for you to act." the fae explained.
Then Luna stretched her back paws and looked at Icepaw. "Are you ready?" she asked. It was his first time trying this so she wanted to make sure that he prepaired himself for her leap.

Icepaw stumbled and landed on the ground as Lunalight moved out of the way, not anticipating her move. Standing back up, the apprentice nodded as Lunalight mentioned how the duck and twist could be effective. Hearing his mentor's instructions, Icepaw nodded once more, crouching down and making sure that his fur was at least a paw-length away from the grass. "I think that I'm ready." Icepaw said in response to his mentor, trying to go over Lunalight's instructions in his mind.

Lunalight nodded at her apprentice's words. She croached and padded forward to him before stopping on like five metres away from him. It was a big distance but she had something in mind to do so. She waited for a few seconds before leaping towards Icepaw. For an effective jump she made sure that the wight of her body was concentrated in the front parts of her body making sure it will push her forward. This wasn't only helpluf for an effective jump, it was also going to prevent collision with the white wolf if something went wrong.

Icepaw watched as Lunalight had stopped a few tail-lengths away from him, before she had jumped forward. The wolf tried to remember the move; he'd have to try to do it as quickly as he could. Icepaw ducked down, and twisted to the side, rolling over before he tried to spring back up onto his paws. He was a bit clumsy, but wasn't sure if he'd be able to avoid Lunalight's move. Icepaw's blue eyes glanced back to Lunalight as he watched his mentor come towards him.

Lunalight was in the air and no matter how fast was everything happening she managed to see Icepaw's reaction. He done it very well, actually. Unfortunately his roll didn't got him on a safe distance as she expected. Luna reached the ground with her front paws and rolled forward in order to avoid a bump with her apprentice. She made a single roll forward just like a moss ball and landed on her four paws. 'Ahh, what a luck' she thought. The brown fae wasn't that young anymore and those kind of cascades might end bad for her.
The warrior shook her fur and turned around with a smile. "Are you ok?" was her first question. It was important for her to know if Icepaw was injured or not.

Icepaw watched as Lunalight had came forward; his mentor had had to roll out of the way to avoid landing into him, and Icepaw found himself loosing his balance and falling onto his side. Shaking his fur, Icepaw stood back up, nearly falling over before he was able to get his balance. "I'm okay." Icepaw replied as he heard Lunalight, looking back at his mentor. He hoped that she was alright as well, and hadn't gotten hurt rolling forward.

The warrior watched her apprentice getting his balance. She took a step closer when he was about to fall but stopped when he stood on his paws. Luna nodded in a relief. 'Thank you.' she thought. A warm smile appeared on her muzzle as she spoke calmly. "It's not a big deal that you did not succeed from the first time. We can try again, if you want to. If you don't then we will move on the next deffence move." The she-wolf somehow tried to soothe him. Getting angry and depressing him would surtainly not lead to something good.

Icepaw looked up as he heard Lunalight speak, nodding to the warrior. "We can try again, I'll try my best to get the move right this time." The apprentice said. Inside, he kept back his dismay over not being able to get the move right the first time. I'm just not that good at fighting. Icepaw thought, his icy blue eyes looking back to Lunalight to hear what she wanted him to do.

"Ok, then." the fae said and trotted to her previous spot. She stretched her back and front paws slightly and trampled the soil under them. "Ok, now. Lower your body and prepair to observe my moves. The moment I leap don't lose even a second. If one roll is not enough to get you on save distance them make two consecutive." the warrior added before getting ready for her jump.
She looked at Icepaw and gave a slight nod. "Ready?" the she-wolf asked as she moved one of her front paws forward.

Icepaw's icy blue eyes glanced back towards Lunalight as he heard his mentor's words. He nodded slightly, crouching down as he waited for Lunalight's move. "I'm ready." Icepaw said, his voice a bit quiet. The apprentice tried to remember all that Lunalight had said, trying to determine what he had done wrong previously and how he'd be able to do the move correctly this time. Icepaw prepared for Lunalight's leap, ready to try the move again.

Lualight nodded at her apprentice. She stretched her paws and crouched down. With medium speed she padded forward then again stopped on few fox-lenghts. She didn't wait a second more when she leaped towards Icepaw. Once again she made sure that the wight of her body was concentrated in the front parts of her body. Another effective jump of hers, but this time she was faster. She wanted the white wolf to feel like he really was endangered, though he was not. Knowing he listened carefully to her tips, she somehow knew he will do it this time.

Icepaw's blue eyes watched Lunalight as his mentor dashed forward, before leaping towards him. Think fast. Icepaw thought to himself, trying to remove how to properly do the move. He didn't have many moments until Lunalight would arrive. The apprentice crouched down, rolling over onto his side and twisting back onto his paws. Icepaw stumbled slightly, falling back over again, though he hoped that he would be far away enough from Lunalight's path.
