The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

First topic message reminder :

A pool of water that reflects the rays of the setting sun. Named after Firestar, a previous ThunderClan leader. Many fish are found in these waters and animals from all around come to drink from its depths. It is fed by Perch's Flow, a river that winds itself through StormClan's land.

Ted

Ted guessed that him trying to show he wasn't a threat wasn't working, so he rolled onto his belly and crouched on the ground staring up at the wolves with his lovely brown eyes. He flinched at the ginger wolfs tone not liking the way she was glaring at him like he'd murdered someone. He didn't understand it, was him being here really so wrong? His tongue moistened his lips again showcasing just how anxious he was, his tail wagged slightly in a gesture of goodwill. He was scared to move, a black wolf he hadn't noticed before speaking about 'two-leggeds' his ears and head perked up suddenly understanding what they were going on about "oh you mean the humans? They'll leave on their own" he used to go on camping trips with master, they'd been fun until he'd started drinking. He supposed there could be a good way to make them leave before hand if they were worried about it, Ted thought to himself "If you growl and chase them they'll come back with guns and they'll kill you, maybe wait until they sleep then steal some of their stuff and get rid of it. Or leave a decomposing carcass near their tents that'll help! make their stay as uncomfortable as possible and then they'll leave and wont come back". he could probably help them, the humans would likely let him come close because he looked like a dog not a wolf. But it was up to them as they didn't seem to want him on their territory, he didn't exactly know what a territory was like anyway but he guessed it was something that belonged to the wolves and they didn't want him near it whatever it was.

Listening to the dog's advice, Aspenpelt turned her head back over to the two-leg den, taking his suggestion into consideration.

"You know Rosethorn, that might not be a bad idea." The young warrior told to her former mentor.

Although Aspenpelt had never come across two-legs before, Ted's idea sounded like it was worth a shot.

Rosethorn glanced back as shadowheart spoke seeming more concerned with the long-shanks. The black dog spoke up again seeming to know quite a lot about the long-shanks, Aspenpelt seemed to think his suggestion was a good idea. The newly made deputy sighed, it was too early in the morning for this stuff. "Fine we will give his suggestion a go, and then afterwards you will escort him off of Thunderclan land Aspenpelt" she told her wanting the dog off of their territory before he decided to hunt there. She glanced at Pigeonheart before she padded over to stand next to Shadowheart. Staring over at the long-shanks she thought to herself deciding what they were going to do, well if they were going to make life as difficult as possible for them then they might as well steal stuff from them and dump it in the still freezing cold pond.

Nodding obediently at Rosethorn's instructions, Aspenpelt gestured for the curly-haired dog to follow her. They needed to find a carcass, perhaps one of a rabbit or any other small rodent. A whole elk carcass would be too hard to find, and not to mention that the two-legs would easily notice the source of the pungent smell. Eventually Aspenpelt decided that it would be best to catch an animal herself instead of spending precious time looking for a corpse of one.

Although the young warrior did not like the idea of wasting food, she knew it was the best choice in order to keep her clan safe.

"You know how to hunt, right?" Aspenpelt asked Ted as she began to walk.

Pigeonheart

avatar
Young Warrior
The young warrior glanced back in Shadowheart's direction when he brought up the situation with the Twolegs. He was right—that was more important than dealing with the dog. Pigeonheart's light amber gaze switched back to Ted when the dog told them some ideas to get rid of the Twolegs. He frowned; those ideas seemed rather dangerous. If they stole from the Twolegs, what would happen if they found them? Before he could speak up Aspenpelt agreed on the plan, and then Rosethorn did; Pigeonheart wouldn't go against the deputy's decision. "B-But what about the Twolegs' fire-sticks?" he finally said, wondering what he'd have to end up doing.

Rose considered her options for a few moments "Pigeonheart, you stay here and keep an eye on the dog, don't want him hunting here" she spoke firmly, from the tone of his voice he hadn't seemed that able to go up against the two legs. Glancing at Aspenpelt she gestured for the wolf to come back "You Shadowheart and myself will sneak up in the long grass near where they are, we'll each steal something that looks important and dump it in the pond. I'd rather not waste good fresh-kill on humans especially because it'll attract other scavengers like foxes and weasels" she explained calmly a determined glint in her eyes. She sent the dog a wary look, still not trusting it to not hunt on their land, after this she'd see that he'd get escorted off of the territory. She slipped around the pond and into the thick grass blending in against some of the long dryer stuff stalking the two legs pelt dens carefully.

Leaving Ted's side, and trotting back over to Rosethorn, the young warrior listened carefully to her former mentor's instructions. Nodding her head in understandment, Aspenpelt followed the scarred fae towards the two-leg den, quietly sneaking up to their shelter made of pelts.

Slipping into the den, Aspenpelt surveyed her surroundings, looking for something that looked important. Grabbing an alarm clock, the gray-colored female yanked the machine from its place, and trotted back outside.

"I got something." Aspenpelt informed with her mouth full.

Tossing the small clock into the pond, the young warrior headed back to the two-leg den, searching for more stuff to throw away.

The darkly handsome Shadowheart obeyed Rosethorns command and slipped through the undergrowth expertly blending in well with the shadows thanks to his soft black fur. Padding over to the two leg dens he sniffed around before finding a couple of strange things filled with oddly smelling items. Grabbing the garbage back he ripped it open and threw the two leg rubbish all over the place, during this he knocked over a chilli bin filled with meats and his ears perked at what he had found. Easy prey, picking through what he found he devoured some sausages and destroyed the rest of the food thinking that if they didn't have food they wouldn't stay, a loud shout made him jerk and he quickly made his escape with stones and two leg curses were thrown at him. He lost them in the underbrush and watched them stalk back to the mess he'd made with silent satisfaction

Pigeonheart nodded upon hearing Rosethorn's orders. "Of course. I'll make sure that he doesn't hunt anything," he said. He was relieved that he wouldn't have to go near the pelt-dens; it was best to stay as far away from Twolegs as possible, in his opinion. He kept his amber gaze on the dog to make sure that he wouldn't try escaping or hunting; even if it didn't seem like he would, Rosethorn had tasked him with keeping watch and he wouldn't want to let the deputy down. A shout from up ahead caused him to flinch; had the Twolegs noticed them? Pigeonheart crouched low to the ground, trembling as he waited for the Twolegs and their fire-sticks to appear; he could hear the Twolegs' voices but none came near where he was. He still felt quite scared, and was even more glad that he hadn't had to steal anything from the pelt-dens.

With her ears picking up the sound of two-leg voices, and Shadowheart running for the bushes, Aspenpelt hastily dashed out of the den, where she found cover in the foliage nearby. Staying low the the ground, the young warrior watched the two-leg intruders discover the mess they made. With a smirk of satisfaction on her maw, Aspenpelt slunk away to where Pigeonheart and Ted were staying. "They'll definitely not want to come back now." Aspenpelt informed to the two canids with a laugh.

Rosethorn

avatar
Deputy
Rose had slipped into the bushes and had watched Aspenpelt and Shadowhearts efforts, silently amused at the black wolfs dirty work she burst forth out of the shadows and attacked one of their stupid pelt dens. After she'd managed to make it collapse she trotted back to her companions a pleased glint in her pale green-blue eyes "I think you have the right of it Aspenpelt!" her gaze flicked to the black dog and the amusement left her features "Aspenpelt, would you mind escorting the dog to a border?" she'd seemed to be amicable with him after all, and they still needed to search for Coalpaw. Aspenpelt could catch up afterwards anyway, she couldn't say how proud she was of the young wolf that had been her apprentice.

Medicine Wolf Apprentice
Coalpaw lifted her head up in agony and confusion as she took in her surroundings. What am I doing at the Fire Pond? she thought blearily. The young wolf jumped to her paws as she heard voices in the distance and limped in their directions, still completely unsure of when or how she got here.

Rosethorn

avatar
Deputy
Hearing a rustling of undergrowth her head popped up and she tensed slightly, recognizing the scent however once the wind changed and brought it to her nose Rosethorn sighed with relief. She moved forward pushing through the thick bushes ignoring that they got tangled in her bright orange fur. Her pale blue-green eyes widened seeing Coalpaw "Thank Starclan" she breathed looking Coalpaw over she noticed the younger wolfs injuries. She looked over her shoulder "Shadowheart, Pigeonheart, help Coalpaw back to camp" Aspenpelt could take the dog to the border and make sure he didn't come back. She wanted somewhere to just wander off and be by herself for a bit away from everyone, she helped Coalpaw back to the other two that she had asked to take her back to camp. Nettlecloud had been worried about her rightly so it seemed, her pink tongue moved and swiped over her nose before she turned and padded off without a word wanting to find a place to just sit and think.

Obeying Rosethorn's orders, the young warrior responded to her deputy. "Of course." Turning her attention towards Ted, Aspenpelt gestured for the curly-haired dog to follow her. As she began to trot towards the Thunderclan and Windclan border, the she-wolf checked to make sure Ted was right behind her.

Pigeonheart glanced up as Aspenpelt returned; she mentioned that the Twolegs weren't likely to come back, so he assumed that they were successful. "That's good," he said, standing back up onto his paws. He made an attempt to hide the fact that he had been scared, but his heart was still beating fast from his earlier fear. He heard the sound of paw steps and nearly jumped before he realized that it was only Coalpaw. He was glad that the apprentice was safe, but she seemed to be limping and he wondered if she had been hurt. "Yes, of course," he said in response to Rosethorn, before glancing back at Coalpaw. "It's good that you're safe, but in the future, you should always head directly home after a Gathering. Wandering alone can be dangerous. As I always say, it is better to be safe than sorry," he said. He began to lead the way back to camp, looking back to make sure that Coalpaw and Shadowheart were coming too.

Shadowheart looked up and smiled in relief seeing the mismatched eyed apprentice was okay, he liked the black apprentice as she and her mentor had helped save his life. He dipped his head in greeting and remained silent letting Pigeonheart speak, instead he glanced over as Aspenpelt and Rosethorn went off their own separate ways. The orange deputy seemed to have something bothering her but it was not exactly his place to pry, he shook himself. He knew next to nothing still and needed to keep a sharp eye out to learn everythign he could and become a good member of this clan. Watching Pigeonheart and Coalpaw head back off towards the camp the handsome black brute moved into an easy walk, his summer coat had remained black unlike some wolves whos fur became sun bleached into a brown colour. His gold eyes were lit up with compassion as he continued to pad back along the path towards the clans base, or was it camp?

The curly haired dog had stayed quiet not wanting the bright orange she wolf who carried herself with an air of authority to get titchy with him. At least Aspenpelt seemed nice enough, she hadn't jumped down his throat, that honestly reminded him of Sol the interesting loner he'd met on the marshy muddy territory. He'd learnt quite alot from that one, his thoughts went back to willow and Rowan, they'd both just vanished on him, not exactly wanting to be alone Teddy sighed softly but dutifully followed Aspenpelt the quiet black dog padding after her diligently. At one point he almost lost sight of her and so picked up his movements to a light trot, jaws parting to allow his body to collect more air, tail wagging slightly as he moved.
