The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

Witnessing Maplepaw completely ignore her and ask a stranger, whom they didn't know, to all of a sudden join Thunderclan, not even thinking of the consequences of her actions, made Dovefrost very frustrated on the inside. Keeping a calm appearance, the senior warrior turned to her new student, and began to reprimand her.

"Maplepaw, do you have any idea of what you're doing? You can't just talk to a stranger on your own territory for a minute, and all of a sudden decide that you have the power to start offering stuff that takes some serious thought. The clan can't support as many wolves as we want, not to mention you need the permission from your leader to grant them membership. Maplepaw, I suggest you let me handle this." Dovefrost stayed rather calm as she explained to her apprentice, needing her to know the consequences of her rather rash suggestion.

Also noticing the attitude the rusty-colored youngling was giving, Dovefrost decided it was best to let it go, knowing she had more important things to address than her student's sudden lack of respect.

(Uh-oh Dove did not like that XD Don't worry she will ask Cloudstar to grant Stonepaw a rank in Thunderclan, once she realizes Stonepaw's father is not coming. Just thought I'd clarify that!)

Pure Summers tilted his head after listening to the two. True, he did want to join another pack. However, he did respect their rules. They were made to be followed, after all! Dipping his head, he replied, "As a wolf who was raised to obey dozens upon dozens of rules, I must obey your officer! Take me to the edge of your territory, and we will wait for my father's return, as you said!" He nodded, before glancing at Maplepaw. "I'm sure we could find another place to stay once he arrives. My father and I do not intend to be a burden!" However, he felt somewhat saddened. 'I knew I was always a nuisance....' he thought, hanging his head.

Maplepaw glared at Dovefrost, "You sound selfish! And a bully!" she told Dovefrost angrily, why had she not been saddled with someone that could show compassion to others who were in need rather than selfishly just thinking of themselves the entire time! "Cloudstar would welcome honest and just wolves!" she spoke firmly her own heart guiding her to do what she felt was right no matter what her mentor said. Dovefrost hadn't even wanted her as an apprentice, her claws dug into the earth a little watching the look on Pure summers face and when he hung his head the apprentice glared at her mentor "Now you've made him feel bad! I thought warriors were supposed to be compassionate as well as just!" her words took on a bitter tone, in a way she knew what it was like to be separated from someone you loved after all her parents were part of Starclan now.

Hearing her new apprentice's words just made the older female reconsider her decision of taking her as a student. Perhaps she would never be ready to take on another apprentice.

Letting out a slightly frustrated sigh, Dovefrost rotated her cranium to Maplepaw, and spoke with a neutral tone. "Maplepaw, if you're not going to help, then maybe it's best you go back to camp."

Dovefrost would not tolerate disrespect from Maplepaw.

Pure Summers stayed quiet, letting the two wolves solve their own problems. His ears flattened, watching Maplepaw snap at her officer. He was slightly amazed, yet shocked. In his pack, if a trainee disrespected an officer, they would... well, it wouldn't be pretty. Summers recalled the limp of his closest friend, Peaceful Field. However, the wolf was anything but peaceful, and he often got into trouble. It was a wonder how to two became such good friends, even referring to each other as "brother". He dearly missed the wolf. The wolf was massive for his age, and notably strong, but his front left paw was permanently damaged, though it never seemed to soothe his fiery spirit. Now, Maplepaw didn't seem afraid to question her officer, either. He took a step forward, fearing for her safety. "N-no, your officer is right. She's just doing her job. Escort me to your border at once! We will wait for my father and we will leave... I... I think we should head back home at this point. There's nothing here, and I do have some friends there that I miss," he woofed. Truthfully, Pure Summers only had about two. Peaceful Field and Unblooming Flowers. They were very close, and he missed them quite dearly. 'I have nothing to worry about, however! Flowers will make sure Field doesn't do anything rash!' he confidently told himself.

She flicked her ears and went quiet, the rusted coloured she wolf not understanding how Dovefrost could be such a bully towards someone else. He needed help and yet here she was throwing him out like he was a danger to the pack, her dark green eyes glittered mutinously but they remained steadfastly on her cream paws. I hate bullies... her tail lashed itself from side to side revealing her resentment of her mentor. She lifted her eyes from her paws "I'll show you where the borders are" she told the other young wolf, she'd also stay with him until his father came, waiting all by himself would be lonely after all.

Liking the young stranger's cooperation, and disliking Maplepaw's lack of respect, Dovefrost gestured for the dark-colored male to follow the two of them. As the senior warrior began to walk, a calm expression on her face, she quickly glanced over to her apprentice, wondering why the normally sweet, and rule abiding adolescent had suddenly thrown out all rules of clan life.

It's not that Dovefrost was trying to be mean to the young canine, who was known as Pure Summers, she was just following protocol. Thunderclan already had enough mouths to feed at the moment, and with the numbers of prey beginning to finally recover from Leaf Bare's deadly grasp, the clan wolves had to be careful on how much they hunted.

"So, which direction did you come from?" Dovefrost asked Pure Summers.

Pure Summers began to follow the warrior, his eye trailing down towards his paws. Really, he didn't actually want to go back. He wanted to stay somewhere. Maplepaw's clan sounded like a place he'd enjoy - a place with rules and honor, with wolves who follow protocol. When the older she-wolf spoke, Summers looked up. "I came from towards the mountains. That way," he barked, pointing with his muzzle to the ThunderClan and SunClan border. His father actually pointed out the territory of a pack in the mountains - he and Pure Summers skirted around it to avoid conflict. His father did, however, consider joining them. They'd be at home in the mountains. 'Perhaps we'll go there once he comes back...'

Maplepaw loved the rules of the clan, but the blatant bullying of the innocent stranger wasn't something she could just accept. Following the rules sometimes had to be put to the side to follow ones heart, she didn't say anything. The warrior code was one of honor and respect, to her that meant every wolf she encountered was worthy of that respect whether they were trespassing or not they could still be talked to with respect if anything that'd surely mean they'd be more likely to listen! There were no rules in the code saying that they couldn't accept another wolf into the clan, if anything they had a spare space thanks to Lionpaws treachery. Her gaze glittered at that thought, of course she had to get the mentor that liked picking on everyone! She wished she could have gotten Aspenpelt as a mentor instead, she would have understood better. Dove frost didn't know anything about her and kept acting like she was stupid or something. When Pure Summers spoke she nodded "If your dad dosen't come then you can come and find us, there is a spare space in the clan thanks to someone else leaving" she told him calmly not caring that Dovefrost could hear her, it was true after all! She wasn't lying or making up stories! She padded along next to the other youngster her thoughts drifting as she did so.

Completely ignoring Maplepaw's comments, Dovefrost began to head towards the Sunclan and Thunderclan border, where Pure Summers had said he entered through.

As the older she-wolf trotted through the beautiful scenery of the Maple Forest, she started to become lost in thought. Maybe it would be for the best that the rusty-colored youngling, known as Maplepaw, was given a new mentor. Maybe it would be time for the senior warrior to retire, and join the elders. Because, Dovefrost was sure she couldn't handle an apprenticeship with Maplepaw.

Pure Summers glanced around the forest in wonder. Having been born and raised in the mountains, specifically in a small, grassy valley in between them, he had never seen so many trees. He was used to rocky soil and grassy fields. He'd either hunt mountain goats, rodents, and birds in the mountains, or rabbits among other things in the grassy valley. He wondered how easy it would be to adapt to hunting in another terrain. 'Training! Lots and lots of training!' Summers told himself. When Maplepaw told him about joining the clan, he narrowed his eyes and barked, "My father is coming! When he does, we will be going elsewhere, but I shall suggest joining your pack nonetheless!" He didn't dare to think what would happen if his father didn't return. He was ever optimistic, telling himself that once his dad returns, they will go to the mountain pack.
