The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

The snowy white female had watched the pair leave and had given a sigh, she'd padded into the thick brush that bordered the river and had found a place to lie down out of the prevailing wind. The noise of pawsteps on moving shingle was preceded by a smell that she'd smelled recently, the strange loner who liked to play was back. Lifting her head from her paws the ever silent ghost rose up onto her feet and slunk through the brush to stick her head out and glance around soon spotting the golden wolf. The she wolf tilted her head slightly, he smelled of stormclan, he smelled of the pup that she'd helped bring back from the borders from lusterpelt. Wondering what kind of pies he had snuck his paws into she alerted him to her presence by flicking some stones toward the still river.

He lifted his head at the noise, wagging his tail slightly when he saw that it was the snowy she wolf. He'd wondered if she would have stayed around this area. There were new scents around the river, and he sniffed at them curiously before wading through the water to her, taking the risk of nosing her gently in greeting. Decidedly hungry now, he moved away from her, scouting around for something as a snack to tide him over until he returned to the swampy area, where he knew exactly how to hunt.

The white female had blinked her ice coloured eyes when she'd been nosed, watching the way the male had moved away Ghost listened to the slight growl of her stomach and decided that she'd have to put what she'd learned in stormclan to good use. She silently slipped down to the water carefully wading in she went still, in a slight hunters crouch watching and waiting patiently, eventually a fish swam by her. Her jaws struck forth clamping around the creature, she ignored its struggling turning she padded up out of the water shaking out her white fur, looking over at the stranger she lay down and began to eat after killing the fish by clamping her jaws tight.

He'd caught a small rabbit when he launched herself into the river and came out with a fish. he paused in his movements to watch her, curious about the new way to hunt. The water had always been too low for fish in his home territory. He padded over to her carefully, placing his own catch on the ground. He liked this female. She didn't snap at him like he'd done something wrong like the other wolves seemed to enjoy doing. He ate quickly, keeping a wary eye out for anyone who would be following him, content not to talk with the ghostly female.

She remained relaxed when he turned back up with a rabbit, good that would mean that he wouldn't try to steal her meal although she doubted many loners liked the taste of fish. The silent company was pleasant, nice even, she expertly peeled the scales off of the armored creature and carefully pulled the skin off of the small bones. Once she was done she silently thanked the spirits of the land earth and sea for her meal before standing and stretching listening to the clicks her body made as she did so. Her thoughts flickered to the odd couple that she had witnessed earlier that day, the black as a shadow wolf and the brown she wolf their mannerisims and behaviours were interesting as she'd never really had much to do with loners apart from Lusterpelt.

What she was eating interested him, but he didn't steal it off her. Instead, once he'd finished his meal, he went and stood at the edge of the river, eyes narrowed as he tried to see the shimmering shapes in the water. He pawed at it, wondering just how she'd caught the fish, and glanced back at her, his tail wagging slightly. Would she teach him if he asked? Putting it out of his mind for the moment, he yipped at her gently, hoping she'd play with him again. She was fun to play with.

She watched him when he pawed at the water wondering if he was curious about how she had caught her meal, his tail wagged and he looked at her with a yip. Her ears tilted forward and she rose to her paws, a distant howl had the white femme pause concern creasing her features. That sounds like Moonbreeze... wondering what the matter was she padded down to the stranger whos name she didn't know and hesitantly nosed him in silent thanks and a slight question if he'd come with her. The howl was in a different direction from stormclan territory, her white tail flicked form side to side before she made up her mind. She dashed into the water and swum strongly through the cold water to stand on the far side of the bank, shaking out her fur sending water spraying everywhere, she sent a look at the wolf on the distant side of the river before she turned and trotted off wondering what could have Moonbreeze sounding so upset.

He tilted his head when the howl came, trying to place it. It sounded almost like the one who had tried to defend him and his maggsie, but he couldn't be sure. He didn't know all of the wolves around this strange place. He nosed the female back when she touched him, pricking his ears forward. He watched her swim to the other side of the river, glancing back at him, and made the decision to follow her. Whoever it was that was howling had to need help, otherwise they wouldn't have howled. He took off afer the snowy female, following her scent when he lost sight of her.

Returning to the place that was quickly becoming home the snowy she sighed with relief, concern for Forsakensoul and Moonbreeze troubled her however. Swimming across she shook her fur out and decided that if this place was to become home then she would need to do something about it. Flicking the tip of her tail she padded up into the brush that began after the stony shore of the river ended. Whilst she wandered she half wondered if the sly black wolf with his sister would return, finding an old hollowed out oak she wriggled through the small hole and with happiness discovered that inside there was just enough room for one wolf. She left the place that was going to become her den and trotted around collecting bits and pieces and soon returned to create a warm nest. Pleased with her efforts she padded down to the river and lapped at the water.

He returned to crouch at the water, watching the fish curiously, wondering how the ghostly female had caught one. He patted at the water, watching as the movement scared all the fish away, and sighed a little. He knew how to hunt, he didn't really need to know how to fish as well. The noise of another wolf coming made him lift his head, and he tilted it as he watched the female. She soon vanished into the brush at the edge of the bank, and he returned to watching the fish, curious enough to stay perfectly still, only his ears flicking when he heard her return to the water.

Ghost lifted her head watching him as the unintroduced male gazed into the water, wondering if he was curious about fishing the silent she wolf turned her paws and silently moved over to him having the uncanny ability to move around without making too much noise. She flicked her ears at him and subtly gestured for him to stay still, she moved out into the water again and became still patience clear in her pale icy eyes before she saw a fish. She moved forward aiming carefully and struck out her jaws clamping around a fish. It wriggled in her grip trying to escape and get away, she held it lightly enough and let it escape. The second way to catch fish was shown when she went still again and waited longer this time, her paw flicked through the water and sent the shiny creature up onto the stony shore. She gave a slight wag of her tail tadaaa the simple word sounded in her head.

He sat when she came over, watching her closely as she fished, letting the first one go. He slipped into the water, trying to refrain from playing in the water. He watched the fish for a while, wondering if there was a method to the way they were swimming. Deciding to take a shot, he stuck forward, and fell into the same hole he'd fallen into earlier, successfully scaring all the fish away. He shook himself, shaking his head to rid his ears of water, and looked at the female again. "This oneses is the Sol," he said, deciding to introduce himself. It didn't bother him that she didn't talk, but he was feeling a bit rude in not introducing himself.

The males attempting to hunt fish and spectacularly failing again had the white female silently laughing to herself, her tail wagging as she did so. She shook her head at him and gestured to herself as if telling him to copy how she stood. She stood quietly making sure she didn't cast a shadow with her head, staying still and with enough patience the fish came back, in the middle of this the idea to teach him with a rock came to her. Trotting out of the water she scoured the shore before finding a funny shaped one she returned to him with it in her jaws. Sitting it down in the shallow water she stood there how she'd been standing in the deeper water her gaze narrowed before her paw flicked down digging underneath the rock and flicking it onto the shore. She looked at him expectantly wanting him to try, his introduction had her nodding before she hesitated, I was crystalheart... but now I'm ghost how do i even tell him thats what I am now she took a deep breath and gestured to herself before she quietly and somewhat bashfully carefully mouthed out each letter of her name.

He wagging his tail at the amused look in her eyes, enjoying himself even if he wasn't catching anything. He waded out of the water so he didn't scare the fish away further, and sat on the bank, watching her closely again, Clearly he'd missed something the last time she'd shown him. Her finding a rock and bringing it to him confused him for a while, until she sent it flying, and he yipped in understanding, his tail scouring the dirt from the ground behind him. He turned his happy brown gaze to her when she gestured, and carefully watched her, trying to understand what she was saying. "Is the whiteness's name?" he asked, tilting his head on the side as he tried to work out what she'd said. "The ghostly one is no voices. Does the ghostly one call herself the ghost for the Sol?"

She had carefully mouthed out each letter a couple of times and had sank a little in defeat until he'd suddenly spoken and had asked if her name was ghost because she could not make a sound. She gave a nod of her head pleased that even though he couldn't understand her he'd been smart enough to figure everything out anyways. She headed over and grabbed the funny rock again placing it back in the water she gestured at it with a paw wanting him to have a go at practicing, she slowly showed him how one would grasp underneath the rock to flick it onto the shore and then moved out of the way so she hopefully wouldn't get knocked on the noggin from it.

He ignored the rock for a moment, instead going to her and licking her ear in a friendly way before he waded into the water. Picking up on how she'd flicked the rock, he tried to do the same, sending the rock sailing in a nice arc deeper into the river. His amusement at himself showed quite clearly in his gaze, and then he sighed, giving up. "This one is not madeses for the fishy wishies. The golden one eats froglings and swampsie critters."

The white she wolf silently watched him practice with the stone and listened to the soft sound it made as it landed in the deeper water. She wagged her tail slightly and listened as he spoke, he sounded like he'd fit in prey wise with Shadowclan, she'd always been more thunderclan and river clan than stormclan. The thought made her gaze lower, she regretted leaving Thunderclan, maybe if she'd stayed then her family would have lived. She sighed telling herself that there was no point worrying about things like that she couldn't change the past. She needed to live in the moment and survive, inhaling sharply she sent him a questionning glance wondering what kind of life stories the male wolf had to speak of.

He trotted out of the water and rolled in the grass at the edge of the rocky bank, not bothering to get up once he'd finished. "The ghostly is lostses," he said simply, yawning. He was bored here now, but he dind't want to leave her alone. She seemed to sad to be left alone. Maybe she'd come with him. "Does the ghostly shewolf come trotsying with the golden Sol to explore?"

She watched simply as he got up out of the water and found a spot to roll in the grass the movement similar to the black scarred wolf from earlier. He mentioned exploring the naturally silent female having missed his comment about her being lost. She hesitated clearly and thought for a moment before shaking her head, she'd rather stay here and perhaps catch up on some sleep. She flicked her nose towards him trying to tell him that he should go and explore and not worry abot her she was fine she'd always been fine. She walked up out of the water and vigorously shook the water from her snowy coloured fur before she turned and padded up into the brush curling up inside the hidden away den she'd made for herself.

He waited while she hesitated and thought, and merely nodded when she flicked her nose at him. "The Sol will visit the lost ghostly," he told her, not following her when she vanished into her hidden den, respecting her privacy. He got to his feet and shook himself out, smelling the new scents that were around since he'd last visited. Deciding that he'd just wander around, he trotted off in a new direction, not really sure where he was going, but not really caring, either.

The wolf silently padded up, navigating the stones she lowered her head to lap at the cold water of the still river. Her nose brought scents to her of the strange white female and another loner that she didn't recall meeting, the rather blunt wolf-dog yawned before sitting down waiting for her brother and Julian. THe other two wolves they'd met at the valley held no interest for her, they were quite clearly wrapped up in one another the thought making disgust glitter in her eyes. She watched the water warily having a dislike of water, she could swim and hold her breath under water but she still hated it from the training she'd been forced to do as a youngster.

His clumsy paws made him slip on the smooth stones, and he skidded right into the water, splashing everywhere before he remembered that he knew how to swim. Deciding to try and play, he paddled around eagerly, soon padding out to splash at Mel, offering her a game. He didn't really hold much hope that she'd play with him. She didn't seem like she knew how to deal with a pup, but she was teaching him how to survive without Rain, so he didn't want to seem ungrateful to her.

The dark wolf appeared in time to see the pup trying to play with his sister, and for a second amusement gleamed in his gaze. The brown female wouldn't play with the half grown thing, especially if water was involved. Half wondering why she'd come this way since she didn't like the liquid, he moved silently down the bank, placing his paws carefully to get a drink, all his senses alert for anyone coming near them.

Paws on stones clattered making an ear flick, the silent white she wolf opened her ice coloured eyes and squirmed out of her den. Remaining hidden in the brush she lifted her black nose, interest piquing as a familiar pair of smells filled the air. Remembering them from earlier she pushed through the brush taking a roundabout way so they wouldn't know exactly where her den was. She ended up on the stones watching the black wolf and the brown one curious, she didn't know who the dog pup was, she observed him trying to engage the brown one in play. She walked towards them having perfected the art of walking on the stones without making any noise.

When Mel didn't respond, his tail and ears drooped, and he stopped trying. Resigned to playing by himself, and went deeper into the river, paddling about happily. The appearance of the newcomer made him pause, but she didn't seem like she would hurt them. Glancing over his shoulder at the two fighters, he left them behind to go meet the white shewolf. Maybe she'd play with him. Hoping that she would, he pawed at the water, making it sparkle as it flew through the air. His tail gave a slight wag in hope, but he was expecting her to refuse him.
