The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

First topic message reminder :

A forest of many red ferns and tall pine trees, the forest floor is often hot from the sun constantly shining down on it, but if you're used to the heat it won't hurt.

The explosive reply of Ashfall to Fernshades words caused her ears to flick back and the quiet comment "How rude" to leave her jaws, sure he could be upset with Fernshades verdict but she was still the deputy of the clan, he probably shouldn't have even defied Gentlestar and come to talk to her. Picking up her kill in her jaws her brown eyes flicked over to Stoatblaze in silent resignation, speaking around her kill, he voice somewhat muffled "We should return to Gentlestar and let her know whats happened, Ashfall I think" she paused to shake her head "Should be left to himself for a bit, he should calm down and return to the camp when hes ready" The creamy colored female who always had long fur despite the change of the seasons glanced to Fernshade waiting for the dark brown wolfs assessment and orders

Pinedusk glanced over at his sister as she began to speak in response to Ashfall. Fernshade's tone had been a bit harsh, but he had to admit that it was best that they didn't interfere. Especially if it meant stirring up trouble with WindClan. However, Ashfall hadn't listened to reason. The other warrior's words angered him; Ashfall had insulted both SunClan and the Warrior Code, but most of all, he had insulted his sister. He glared after Ashfall as he left before turning to Fernshade, but the deputy had gone off into the brush. He flicked his ears as he heard Willowmist suggest they head back to camp. He wished that he could have caught a single piece of prey, but at least he'd have the excuse of it being Leafbare and prey generally being scarce. Pinedusk glanced back in Fernshade's direction, padding after her. "Are you okay, Fernshade?" he asked. He paused a moment before adding, "Willowmist thinks we should head back to camp to inform Gentlestar."

The orange warrior nodded when he heard Steelstripe's reply. He sniffed the air for any sign of the deer, but he still couldn't catch their scent. Before he could head over to where Steelstripe had pointed out, he heard the deputy speak once more and decided he could search for the deer later. Stoatblaze listened instead to the conversation between Fernshade and Ashfall. They had both been a bit cold in their words, but Ashfall's last response took him by surprise. He wouldn't have expected him to react in such a way to the deputy, especially as the other warrior hadn't been in the Clan for as long as some others. His blue eyes turned to Willowmist when she walked back over. "Nice catch," he said when he noticed her rabbit. "I think informing Gentlestar would be a good idea," he added, glancing in Fernshade's direction to see if the deputy agreed.

What would be best for the clan. That same statement every time she had to think. She furrowed her brow and growled under her breath. One wolf's happiness over dozens of misery. She wouldn't risk that. Even if she wanted to snap back at Ashfall, and put him in his place. But loosing a family would be tough in itself. She sighed shakily, anger burning in her stomach, but her refusal to let it cool just make her blood boil and her ears roar. She needed to save that anger. "That sounds nothing like me." She thought, eyes staring at the ground. Observing black specks among tides of white.

Was she okay? Her gaze turned to her brother. "No. But I'll take being upset over Ashfall's ridiculous plan." She breathed, her eyelids lowered over bloodshot eyes. Maybe she needed sleep. Maybe it was best to return to camp and report to Gentlestar. But it would be nothing new to the she wolf. Ashfall had mentioned his outburst towards their leader.

"Yeah...Let's go." She padded back to their group, hearing Willowmist and Stoatblaze speak. Idle chatter among serious tones. "We don't need deer for now. The border patrol's probably back." She bent over and grasped her prey between her jaws. She met eyes with each wolf before padding back to camp. The crunch of snow under her paws somewhat melancholic.

"Respect is mutual. I give some, you give some. It is not something that goes one-way."

Steelstripe flashed an embarrassed grin at Stoatblaze. "Yeah it's probably gone by now..." He mused, before turning around to flinch at Ashfall's outburst. "Harsh much?" He whispered, more to himself than to anyone else. He watched Ashfall storm off with an upturned brow, and frowned as Fernshade stomped off. "Totally went well." He muttered sarcastically before looking up at Willowmist calm and cool observation. "He needs to be thrown in the river before he can actually cool off." He added, laughing lightly. Before seeing the Pinedusk walk off and then return with their deputy. "Ah siblings. How nice they are, as long as they don't turn on each other." He thought flatly, before nodding along to everyone else's comments. "Best we head back then." He added, letting Fernshade pass him before following. "Shall we?" He said before padding after the she-wolf. Still bitter about not having an opportunity to hunt. "Oh well. You'll get more chances soon, Steel."

The blonde female picked up her prey keeping her other thoughts about what Ashfall had said and Fernshades response, well to herself, the older female sighed pausing a moment to think about at least these woods were relatively warm. Flicking her tail she shook her head beginning to head back to camp, not really paying attention to where her paws were placed the aging female took a longer time to get back to camp

Pinedusk frowned slightly at Fernshade's reply. But he supposed that all would soon be alright; his sister and Ashfall just needed some time to cool down. The red warrior nodded when Fernshade mentioned for them to go, and followed her back to the others in the patrol. I just hope everything's still okay back at camp. When the other wolves began to head back, Pinedusk started after them, a bit disappointed that he hadn't caught any prey.

The orange warrior nodded slightly at Steelstripe's comment about the deer. If the scent was stale, there was a good chance it was far away by now. He turned his head towards Fernshade when the deputy returned, and nodded once more. "Hopefully we'll catch the deer another time," he said. Stoatblaze started back to the camp when the rest of the patrol walked off, his pace relatively slow.
