The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

1 ThunderClan camp on Sat Nov 02, 2013 7:28 pm

First topic message reminder :

A slightly steep dip in the ground, surrounded by fallen pine trees and brambles, some trees have even fallen over top of the large dip, making bridges over the camp. The leaders den is a jumble of rocks with a tunnel under it that leads into a den. The medicine wolf den is the same as the leaders den. The elders den is in a hollow log on the side of camp that has been filled up with moss and other soft bedding materials, the warriors den is a large, thick bush with much cover, as is the apprentices den, and the nursery is the same as the elders den.

Listening to Maplepaw's words, the senior warrior moved closer to the rusty-colored apprentice, and laid down beside her.

"Don't worry, he'll come around." Dovefrost assured with a friendly tone. "And he'll definitely have to stop being mad at you once you become one of the best warriors in Thunderclan. Of course after we've finished your training." The pure white female said with a warm smile.

Maplepaw remained sitting watched as Dovefrost lay down and spoke, her ears flicked forward to listen to her mentor. Silent relief flared in her green eyes when she mentioned that they would still train together. Able to pull herself together some she nodded, she supposed it would do. "What are we going to do now?" she asked wondering what she was going to learn first and if she'd get to be taken out on the territory. She couldn't wait to learn the territory like the back of her paw, learning how to hunt and defend her clan was also on her list of things she wanted to do. She would totally beat her brother and become a better warrior than him! She knew he preferred to fight with words rather than with blows which made her certain she'd be able to beat him. She wasn't a big fan of violence but knew it had its place in life, some wolves just would not respect the rules until they got their tail handed to them. What fighting moves would she learn? What would she learn to hunt, vole maybe or a partridge, the possibilities seemed endless to her.

The snowy-colored female thought for a second before responding to Maplepaw's question. Dovefrost would've suggested a practice patrol around Thunderclan territory, for her new apprentice to get to know their land better, but she would not take the chance that the so called, Lion might still be lurking around the area. The senior warrior would not allow Maplepaw risk her life. Dovefrost knew if she was going to be a mentor again, she would have to be extra careful with her student.

"Hmmm... perhaps we could practice some fighting moves and techniques within camp?" The pure white fae suggested. "At least until the patrol party comes back." Dovefrost added.

She pouted a little "Come on Dovefrost pleaaasse! I wanna go see the territory!" her brother had been allowed to explore the territory lots as a pup and now it was her turn. Unable to help herself she skipped over to where the entrance to camp was and flashed a hopeful look back at her white mentor. The territory was calling to her and the normally restrained good apprentice ended up skipping out of camp excitement flaring on her features. She'd no doubt feel guilty about doing this later on but right now there was nothing for her to worry about, the rusty coloured apprentice ducking through thick shrubs not caring where she ended up.

Seeing Maplepaw scamper out of Thunderclan camp, Dovefrost chased after he new apprentice, calling out desperately.

"Wait! Maplepaw! It's not safe!"

The senior warrior was surprised to see the rusty-colored youngling pull a stunt like that. She was usually so well behaved. Hot on Maplepaw's trail, Dovefrost headed over to the Maple Forest, mknowing that she would have to reprimand her student.

Lightpaw took another bite of the rabbit, glancing at Blackpaw. Gulping down the meal, he lashed his tail. "I totally won't miss her! It was, like, funny watching you insult her and stuff, but she was evil! Totes evil!" he barked somewhat bitterly, shivering. "I don't want to see her ever again! If I do, I'd be totally dead. Cause... you know... she'd probably kill me," he woofed, licking the rabbit's blood from his muzzle. Hopefully he would never see the she-wolf again. He feared her tremendously; he knew she wouldn't hesitate to kill him, or anyone. When he saw Maplepaw leave the camp, he flattened his ears. "I wish Jaydust would, like, take us out of camp. I wanna go somewhere already! Staying in camp is, like, totally lame!"

Blackpaw watched his friend out of the corner of one of his orange eyes, noting the tremble he snorted to himself "I would kill her first, primarily with words and then when she is puffed up enough with rage and unable to think clearly I would end her miserable spark of life" his words were dark but were quite clearly meant. He would not tolerate Lionpaw hurting Lightpaw or Maplepaw, she could kill the rest of the clan however, that wouldn't bother him. The adults were all idiots anyway, none of them could hope to match his insulting level, perhaps Rosethorn when she got irritated enough she slipped into a strange kind of slang that was quite delightful to ridicule "Now my belly is full, I'm happy as a Frenchman who's invented a pair of self-removing trousers" he announced, at his friends comment about his sister his orange eyes narrowed "I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel!" he spoke quieter this time a sly look glinting in his eyes "Since Jaydust and Pigeonheart ditched us, why don't we go and explore the territory again on our own?" they didn't need an escort unlike Maplepaw the goody two shoes. he watched Lightpaw waiting for his friend to reply.

Redwind

Young Warrior
OOC: Sorry for the wait, and the heartbreak

Redwind felt the gap between his body and his mind. It wobbled a bit, but frustration snared both ends, dragging them closer together. He couldn't question Cloudstar. Despite his instinct crashing down around his ears and howling for dissent. He would never learn, and what could he gain from suppressing what was always his? old habits would die hard, but anyone could see that wasn't going to happen any time soon. His gaze snapped up as a somber voice mumbled, shame coloring the edges and filling him with unrighteousness wrath. His apprentice was a warrior. Their previous spats and banter seemed to loose their reason in light of something as impending as a warrior ceremony, but that was just an echo was of what burned. Redwind only had one job, and that had gone fantastically! An apprentice that had been Lionpaw's partner in crime, more often than not. And now, with emotions tangled together, he couldn't find himself to believe Mustangpaw — spirit. Whoever he decided he was.

"Help with murder? She seemed like she could handle it well enough herself..." He found himself muttering, even with the bob in his throat at the hurt he felt. Betrayal. Tasted as sour as it sounded. "But thanks for helping the pups. And whatever else that witch needed." He added, sharp eyes avoiding his. "...and sorry I couldn't keep your word trustworthy. I'm useless like that." Where else would the blame go? Redwind was a part of this problem. A big slice in it. He was too arrogant to see where this would have gone.

"Congratulations on your warrior name, Mustangspirit. I'm hope it'll be everything you hoped it to be." He hissed, shoving past his ex-apprentice and finding comfort elsewhere. But where? Redwind is and always had been a loner. "Hurts doesn't it? To be mouse-brained? Stupid beyond belief? Where do you go now, you useless pile of dung?" He stared at the behinds of Coalpaw's search party, a note of longing in it. Work until you don't remember, and if you remember, work. Great piece of advice from a great hunk of loser.

"Leave. Get out of town. You're not needed here." And the harsh growls in his ear started again. It was easy just to escape, a picturesque Plan B for someone like him. But then he would be just like what everyone says, a disloyal traitor who leaches off the clan. Like he had always been. So he marched away, trying to keep his frame tight and tense. He couldn't be walking out of camp like a child with a temper tantrum.

Hawk swallowed, her chest tight, but a smile on her face. She wanted to congratulate Rosethorn, but the newly named deputy was already off on official business. She huffed a bit, a wry smile on her face before it gave way under worry. "I hope Coalpaw will be alright. But Rosethorn had always been quick. She'll find her." So instead, she turned her attention back to the body before her, trying to breathe over the blood in the air. Moonshadow's remains lay still on the ground. Hawk's eyelids lowered and lie at half-mast. Her gaze shifted to the plants at her feet, and her exhale shuttered. Honoring Moonshadow's body would be an honor for her either way.

Her paw hesitantly drifted over Moonshadow's eyes, before closing them. Their aimless gaze in the sky were doing horrible things to her heart. She set her jaw with a gaze of determination before she continued, daintily picking up the herbs before beginning to rub them into Moonshadow's pelt. The smell of flesh and blood beginning to fade and  turn into the sweet, pungent smell of lavender. It eased the wrench around her heart, and as her paws worked over her body, Hawk felt that the warrior would be at ease in Starclan.

Hurt set his fur ablaze at his mentors words, shock entering his brown eyes. He watched as Redwind shoved past him his ears folding back against his head and a soft growl leaving him, What a coward, he leaves before I can even defend myself! he didn't need such a repulsive waste of fur in his life. Flicking his black tail the dun wolf padded away from the others to enter the warrior den, picking a nest to collapse into the brute stayed there glaring at the other side of the den ruminating heavily on what Redwind had said. He had saved the pups from Lionpaw, the arrogant prat! He glanced over the camp and noticed Hawk with Moonshadows body. His own anger and pain was put to one side as he got up and padded over to stand beside her hesitatingly having no idea what to say to her.

The young warrior led the way back into the camp, glad to be back in the safety of the clearing. He wasn't normally afraid of leaving the camp, but the recent threat of Twolegs and their fire-sticks had made him wary. Hopefully they wouldn't have to deal with those Twolegs again. He looked back to make sure that Coalpaw was coming and that she hadn't gotten lost before his gaze returned to the clearing. He recalled how Coalpaw had been limping and glanced about for Nettlecloud, but he couldn't see the medicine wolf from where he was standing. Even if Nettlecloud had left the camp, surely as a medicine wolf apprentice Coalpaw herself would know what to do? Pigeonheart sat down by the sides of the camp, uncertain what he should do now; he supposed that he might go hunting later, far, far away from the Fire Pond and any potential threat of Twolegs.

He returned to camp his ears picking up the noises of various avians filling the forests with their chatter and song. If they could understand the other creatures of the forest would it help them out? Noting Coalpaw and Pigeonheart he walked over to them and listening to Coalpaws words of gratitude he smiled and nosed her shoulder kindly "Its okay Coalpaw, we all make mistakes in our life times you just have to try and learn from them" he glanced at the other warrior wondering what Pigeonheart was planning on doing before he stretched feeling the scar around his leg protest at the movement. Shaking himself out the black brute padded over to the fresh kill pile, he selected a small bird whos breed he was uncertain of. Laying down in a patch of sun he began to contentedly gnaw on the fowl, his gaze flicking around camp keeping an eye on everything that was going on.

His ears picked up the sound of others entering the camp, seeing Coalpaw remorse flickered in his gut once again. He stepped away from Hawk and padded around over to where the apprentice was, his pink tongue left his mouth to moisten his lips anxiously before he managed to speak. "C-Coalpaw? I... I want to tell you that I'm s-sorry" his mouth and throat were suddenly so dry like he couldn't breathe or swallow properly "I shouldn't have picked on you like I did" how could he tell her how pathetic he felt at being lead astray by Lionpaw? Swallowing harshly and feeling his tongue stick to the roof of his mouth he stayed where he should, thoroughly expecting and deserving to be turned down and spurned. The dun brutes head was lowered and ears were flicked out sideways, his tail hung limply between his legs and his dark brown eyes watched the blueandgreen gaze of the medicine wolf apprentice seemingly and very much so sincere in his apology.

She limped up to him and just before touching noses with him as acceptance of his apology, she saw stars and collapsed suddenly. Just before blacking out  she yelped to Mustangspirit, "I forgive you......." Moments later she came to, and she said to Mustangspirit, "I need to talk to Nettlecloud. Where is he?"

The black brute perked his ears at Mustangspirits words, it seemed the brute had indeed been quite oblivious to Lionpaws true nature although hadn't they all? None of them had really wanted to believe that a wolf of their pack would do such a despicable thing as kill another, let alone that of an untrained in the art of fighting medicine wolf. Gold eyes watched and furry ears listened as Coalpaw forgave the dun male for his previous crimes. A slightly approving look showing on his features, it seemed that Mustangspirit truly had repented and thus deserved a second chance, although Shadowheart indeed would be keeping a close watch on him in case he looked like he might revert back. The approving look vanished when the medicine wolf apprentice collapsed seemingly out of nowhere, stepping forward the male nosed the fallen female only for her to ask for Nettlecloud "I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure I saw him around camp" Shadowheart murmured wondering what on earth had happened still relatively unknowing of the magical properties of the medicine wolves.

Somehow the medicine wolf apprentice had found it in her to forgive him, she spoke gently to him telling him she forgave him for the sins f his past that he knew were likely going to haunt him for a while. Nodding slightly determined to prove himself again, he was a little surprised at the gentle touch of her nose to his. Coalpaw collapsed out of nowhere generating instant panic, wha if they thought he'd done it somehow? What if they kicked him out? Backing up quickly and leaving room for Shadowheart he hung around enough to see that Coalpaw was okay before he slipped out into the clearing of the camp once again. With nothing better to do he found a comfortable spot to sit, ignoring the hunger pangs of his stomach, he didn't deserve to eat after everything. He should have stopped her, gone with her, prevented the two murders

Tired and sore after lugging the heavy body cross country to the camp her jaws parted with relief as they entered the camp, glancing at Stonepaw anxiously, he had to be allowed to join! She couldn't see Cloudstar or Rosethorn, perhaps they were out? Swallowing hard the rusty red apprentice looked toward where they buried their honored dead, the warriors probably wouldn't like it if they just turned up and started burying a random wolf where some of their most honored wolves lay. Still she was proud that she'd been able to help, she'd played a part in bringing the deceased here, Pure Summers would undoubtedy fit in as well after all he seemed to value honor and hard work for ones clan.

Pure Summers warily glanced around the foreign camp, his ears tilted back slightly. Even if Maplepaw's description of her clan sounded much better than his own pack, he was still nervous. His pack was very strict, almost brutal - it was all he had ever really known. When his grandfather was the chief, obviously Pure Summers and his family were treated with more respect and leniency. However, once he was overthrown, the pack became rather hostile and toxic towards them, except for some close friends. Summers was then on bullied by many, and became rather used to it. Would he still be bullied here? How great were these wolves? Would they treat him with caution and hostility, like how new wolves in his old pack were treated?
Carefully laying down the corpse of his father, Pure Summers took a look around. The camp was significantly smaller than his old pack's, and it seemed to be the only camp in the territory. In his own, wolves stayed in different camps according to their status and rank. Sitting down next to Lasting Autumn, the adolescent glanced nervously at Maplepaw. "... What is next?" he woofed, his gaze still empty.

Blackpaw

avatar
Warrior Apprentice
Blackpaw was distracted from Lightpaws response when his sister returned to camp with a dead body and an unknown wolf, Dovefrost had gone after Maplepaw so the young wolf could only expect that she was also on the way. Which obviously meant this red eyed brat wasn't a threat, Blackpaw always preferred others fighting for him anyway, using his sharp tongue was his preferred way to fight. He stood and padded over not paying any attention to the dead corpse, it wasn't one of the clan so he didn't exactly care who it was, ignoring the glare Maplepaw sent his way Blackpaw sniffed the stranger circling him once before stopping infront of him. Maplepaw wasn't the type to bring a stranger to camp without an adults permission and her own gut saying it was the right thing to do, “What now? Cloudstar will judge your worth. IF you are accepted into the clan you will be given a name like ours, and the rank of apprentice. You will be assigned a mentor who will teach you our ways and train you” the dark black wolf responded, privately he was quite proud of the rather dashing scar that he had over his eye courtesy of Lionpaw.  He was so bored of staying in camp, he wanted to go out and find a decent place to nap in the sun withut the consant yammering of idiots that seemed to happen in camp.  It was then that a familiar scent made itself known, it issued forth from the corpse of the dead wolf, sniffing the carcass it quickly became clear to him why they hahd been brought here in the first place   “My my my, the little loathesome fairy maggot Lionpaw murdered your associate here. That makes her total kills 3 that we know of, simply charming. No wonder Maplepaw brought you here, no doubt she feels guilty that one of our ex members did away with your... father i'm guessing. How tragic” he however didn't care, he'd already beaten her in his mind so this colatteral damage was of no interest to him. Stifling a yawn barely he ignored the emptiness of the strangers eyes, he had no intention of remembering when he'd had that look upon his face, instead his orange gaze met his sisters green eyes where he silently told her to keep an eye on the brute. Stepping around them he still could not see Dovefrost, everyone else seemed rather busy at present as well, the temptation to snoop through other clans territories was becoming stronger with every passing day. For  now however he remained in camp, backing off and returning to Lightpaw whom he pushed over with a powerful flick of his nose, he wasn't great at showing affection and this perhaps was the closest  thing he knew. Their parents had never showered them with the type of affection most pups got, they had rules to follow, and the privilage of snuggling into their parents fur was something neither of them knew of. Thus the somewhat bullying gesture was his best attempt.

Lightpaw was about to reply to Blackpaw when he noticed Maplepaw entering the camp with an unfamiliar wolf. The male seemed to be about their age, as he was around the height of a normal, slightly taller, and perhaps older, apprentice. Tilting his head, Lightpaw sat up and glanced down at the figure the two carried. His lime green eyes then widened in horror. "Is... is that... like... WHY ARE THERE SO MANY DEAD THINGS?!" he yipped, shaking. He then noticed that the corpse had resemblance to the stranger. Perhaps it was his father, as the wolf looked rather older. Being the shy canine he was, Lightpaw stayed where he was, nervously watching the foreign male. So far, the young apprentice didn't trust him... mostly because he had quite intense red eyes and looked... well... angry, due to the fur on his brows.
When Blackpaw had returned and shoved him over, Lightpaw snickered and nudged him back, rather playfully. He knew that his friend had tried to be affectionate, and so he wouldn't take it harshly whatsoever.

This fight of my life is so hard, so hard, so hard...
But I'm gonna survive!
Oh, oh, these are beautiful times!
My heart's burning bad,
And it's turning black,
But I'm learning how to be stronger.
And sincerely, I love you dearly,
Oh, but I'm clearly destined to wander!

Utterly disgusted with her brothers behaviour towards Summers the apprentice glowered at him unhappily, why did he have to be so rude and mean to everyone! Wanting to teach the arrogant brat a lesson her red fur bristled angrily, telling herself that he wasn't worth the effort she glanced at Summers wondering if he was alright “Sorry about my brother, hes a bit of a noodle-head” she murmured softly hoping he wouldn't be too put out by her brothers behaviour. Dovefrost had gone over to Cloudstars den, Rosethorn still wasn't back from wherever she'd gone, at least one figure of authority would be useful here. It was a hot day, with barely a breeze to stifle the heat that had hung around for the past moon or so, it was nice but she could see why Stormclan wolves would splash into the water on a day like this. She'd never swum before but the idea of splashing in the cool shallow waters was a pleasant one, still curious about Pure summers' clan she bit off her words before she said them, now wasn't exactly a good time to be a nosy parker after all. “Hopefully later we can find a place to splash in the water to get out of the heat” she murmured towards him, she didn't see why Cloudstar wouldn't let him join he seemed like a good honorful wolf that would adhere to the code that dictated their way of life. The way of the true warrior wasn't easy and was filled with pitfalls but, it was worth it in her mind.

As Coalpaw waited for Mustangspirit to answer her, it became apparent that he wasn't going to. Snorting irritably, she got up and walked over to Dovefrost. "Hi, do you know where I can find either Nettlecloud or Cloudstar?"
