The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

1 SunClan camp on Sat Nov 02, 2013 7:30 pm

First topic message reminder :

Located near Dried River, it stands on a cliff like area. Inside there is a cave with tunnels. The Elders, Deputy, Warriors, Queens(+pups), Medicine wolf, Apprentices, Deputy and Leader all have separate dens down different tunnels. The Leader's den, however, it outside the cave, in a Separate Cave that you need to climb to get to; it is a little above The main Clan Camp's Entrance! The Leader typically hold meetings from a lightly lower ledge Under their den.

Specklefrost

Young Warrior
Specklefrost lifted her head, her dreamy eyes focusing on Fernshade. Tilting her head, she woofed, "If you insist," before getting to her white paws. Looking somewhat sadly back at Ashfall, she softly replied, "Fernshade just called me for a patrol. We could go on a walk when I get back." Smiling at the male, she bounded after the rest of the wolves. Truthfully, she didn't really want to go. She wanted to stay with Ashfall. However, Fernshade commanded her to go, so she had to. Specklefrost just told herself that she'd be assisting the clan to a degree by going to make herself feel better.

Pinedusk nodded slightly at Gentlestar's words. "I'll be careful," he said. He caught the worried look on the leader's face; he himself had worry, but he knew that worrying about something never did any good. He licked Gentlestar softly on her ear. "Everything will be okay. I should be back soon," he murmured. What if he didn't return though? Or what if when he came back, Gentlestar had already had her pups, and with no medicine wolf.... He shuddered at the thought. "I'll see you shortly," Pinedusk said, trying to manage a small smile before he trotted out of camp and after the others.

Warrior Apprentice
The idea of going on a patrol with his mentor and the other apprentices was shot down quickly when Willowmist had entered the camp, dragging in with her an injured wolf. Wait... she's not injured, she's.... Jasperpaw let out a whine of fear. Willowmist had explained soon afterwards that the wolf had been found on ThunderClan's territory; it was her implication that ThunderClan must have been responsible. The apprentice began to shiver with fear. Not only do we have to worry about WindClan, but ThunderClan as well? ThunderClan was walking around, murdering SunClan wolves left and right! Well, perhaps they weren't at the moment, but if they could kill once why wouldn't they do it again? Who was stopping them? Tourmaline's words about declaring war caused him to let out another whine. How could his sister suggest something like that? Sure, she had always been hot-headed and quick to make a decision... but war wasn't something that should be done without thought. Or done at all.

He sat back against the cave walls, every once and a while letting out a low whimper, until the wolves began to come back from the Gathering. Much to his surprise, they didn't look so shocked when they looked at Pandamask. Did they somehow hear about what had happened? Gentlestar had given a speech and a patrol was sent out, and Jasperpaw sighed. With every day he was beginning to regret more and more his choice to join the Clan. So far it had brought him nothing but stress and fear. His brown eyes scanned the camp before spotting Tourmaline, and he padded up to her, letting out a whine. "Tourm? W-We're not really going to fight ThunderClan... right?" he murmured. His mentor had left on the patrol so there wasn't anyone else he could ask; he feared what Steelstripe's response would have been if he had been able to ask him. He'd all but affirmed that Jasperpaw would have to fight if they were up against WindClan, and he figured he'd get the same reply if he asked about ThunderClan.

Silverfern returned to camp with blood thickening her black fur, making it sticky and spiky. Limping a little she stopped at the entrance to the camp a hesitance running over her. She didn't want to make Gentlestar worry, glancing over at where Willowmist and Ebonyfur were she nosed the cream coloured senior warrior silently asking for help. Her silver eyes clouded with pain. She turned around to try and lick her shoulder where Lilysongs fangs had dug into her, the young warrior moved over to the medicine wolfs den and curled up in one of the nests there.

Warrior Apprentice
Jasperpaw had been waiting for his sister's response when he heard paw steps sound by the entrance. Had ThunderClan come to fight first? Or perhaps WindClan? Deep down he knew that he was probably overreacting, but he was unused to all the stress that Clan life brought and he had always worried a lot, ever since he was a pup. He tried to tell himself that it was only the patrol returning, perhaps his mentor, when he spotted an injured wolf enter the camp. The scent of blood caused his fur to bristle. SunClan had been attacked! A real fight! He wasn't just overreacting! He let out a whine, trembling with fear. What if whoever injured this wolf had followed her back to the camp? I've had enough of this! His wide brown eyes turned back to his sister. "I've... I-I can't... I'll be back later," he murmured. Perhaps he could calm down if he took a walk, far, far away from any potential battles or fights. He'd be alright on his own; he'd lived by himself back in Hartford for months. Hesitantly he headed out the camp entrance and continued onward, uncertain where he'd end up going.

Willowmist

avatar
Senior Warrior
Willow forgot about Ebonyfur when Silverfern returned to camp and came over to her, before she could react the black and silver she wolf had headed into the cave that was the clan camp and entered the den that had been pandamasks. The cream hued senior warrior headed into the den and checked her over, making up what she'd get for the females wounds, ducking into Pandamasks herb store she took out some cobwebs and some goldenrod. Chewing the herb up and wrinkling her nose a little at the sour taste she applied the poultice carefully to the wounds that were the most serious on the oddly marked fae. She smeared some cobwebs over some of the poultices to keep them in place before returning to the herb store. In there she picked out some comfrey root, more golden rod, marigold and tansy. Collecting some of the catch weed she rolled up the herbs in a large Ivy leaf for transport. She was not going to sit here and do nothing, she turned and bustled out of camp her mind focused on her goal, for now her troubles concerning Ravenclaw were not important. Why were they fighting with Windclan, surely since both clans were without a medicine wolf it was folly to do such a thing? She huffed to herself half wishing that Stoatblaze or Ebonyfur would come with her, pausing she looked back into the cave glancing at the two wolves she'd thought of. Trying to shake those thoughts out of her head the older warrior turned and continued on heading out to where the skirmish was.

Gentlestar

avatar
Clan Leader
Gentlestar had been curled up asleep in the queen's den. Though she was still currently the leader of sunclan she could no longer make the trek to her own den. Plus when Fernshade came back from patrol she would be going to the mooncave and the leaders den would be hers. The smell of blood is what woke the heavily pregnant she wolf up. She followed her nose to see that it was Silverfern who had come back from the patrol. "Silverfern are you alright? Is windclan launching there attack now, because I can have somebody run to stormclan if thats the case." She asked the warrior. Worry filling her face. It seemed like her worse fears were coming to life.

Silverfern

avatar
Warrior
Silverfern had allowed Willowmist to tend to her, her silvery eyes opening to watch the senior warrior work on her. She gathered that at some point she must have spent some time in a medicine den to know what she did about herbs. The creamy warrior had left and she had closed her eyes again wanting to sleep off the pain so that her injuries could heal, her sleep was interrupted by Gentlestar. The black and silver she wolf lifted her head, a little wary around gentlestar as she no longer recognized her as her leader, Fernshade was. Her ears twitched as she thought "No, it Weedfang and Wrenclaw meeting at the border looking as thick as thieves, Winclan patrol turned up and things got hotter than a cat on a tin roof, I started a fight when they began slandering Pandamask and suggesting that it was a punishment by starclan for us allegedly killing Snowstar" her silver eyes darkened, she was surprisingly patriotic and insulting the dead was just over the line especially when the deceased was a murdered medicine wolf. The dark silver eyes were guilt free, she held no conscience over what she had done, she was defending the name of the clan and pandamasks.

Ash had nodded sheepishly and had watched as Specklefrost left, he remained where he was waiting patiently for her to come back. He became worried when time passed and she still hadn't returned, up on his paws as he saw Silverfern his jaws dropped a little as he watched Willowmist trundle off to where the fight was. Hearing Silverferns words when she spoke to Gentestar had his yellow eyes glittering with anger, she'd put the entire clan in danger for her unable to control herself! Lashing his tail the mexican wolf resisted the urge to turn on his heels and take off to go make sure Specklefrost was alright. Unable to help a soft growl of frustration the young warrior began pacing back and forth his ears pinned back a little his body tense and irritated.

Gentlestar

avatar
Clan Leader
Gentlestar listened to Silverfern's words and she couldnt help but think that maybe this all could have been avoided. She once had a feeling that Weedfang had been seeing a wolf from another clan but when she had confronted the young warrior she had denied it and stupidly Gentlestar had believed her, not wanting to think that one of her own warriors would betray the clan buy seeking a mate with another and windclan no less. Her fur bristled at that, and the fact that windclan was trying to tarnish the good name of their former medicine wolf Pandamask. "Silverfern get some rest, Fernshade will be the one to deal with your actions. But even if i understand what you did and why you did it. It still doesnt make it right, we have no medicine wolf right now and getting into a battle wasnt something that this clan needed right now. Pandamask did collect herbs for the future of an upcoming war but what happens when we deplete that with petty squabbles. It means that all her hard work to prepare us would have been for nothing. Willowmist and Ebonyfur can only do so much." Gentlestar said before she walked out of the medicine wolf den and saw Ashfall looking like he wanted to go and help his comrades fight. She gave him a comforting lick on the shoulder and she knew what was really making him upset. She then laid down beside him and kinda shifted unto her side to be more comfortable. "You going out there to help them will only make things worse. And we both know that, plus she will be fine Ashfall. Specklefrost can be a little spacey sometimes but she is a good warrior. Trust in your mate." She told him and noticed his look. "Everybody can see that she is what seems to keep you calm and I can tell that she cares a lot about you and you about her. Take good care of her, and I will be expecting lots of little pups hopefully in the near future." She said with a laugh. "Ashfall will you bring me something from the fresh kill pile please." Gentlestar felt just like Ashfall did, like she wanted to rush out to the border and help her clanmates but she couldnt she had these little pups inside her to care for and protect.

Ashfall

avatar
Young Warrior
Ashfalls yellow eyes warily turned to Gentlestar when she walked up, he tolerated the lick not appreciating the contact the wolf usually only really liking one wolf touching him. Everyone else was tolerated, as soon as she mentioned Specklefrost his ears flattened against his head and he glared at her "I think you'd better learn to mind your own business" he growled softly, him and specklefrost were none of her business, she had her own things to poke her nose into. Not appreciating the gossipchain of the clan he got up onto his paws and vanished into the warriors den, what was it with the wolves of this clan and making him want to turn into a murderous maniac? If speckle did have his pups it would still be none of her darn business, she could get her own fresh-kill she was pregnant not a cripple for lupus's sake! He growled to himself grinding his teeth curled up in his nest.

Rainheart

avatar
Young Warrior
Rainheart had looked up in alarm when Silverfern walked toward the medicine wolves' den with injuries; what had happened? Was WindClan the cause of this? She was worried as to who would tend to the warrior's wounds, but Willowmist appeared to have the situation under control. She turned towards Gentlestar to see if the leader had anything to say about the battle, but only overheard her asking Ashfall for some prey. Ashfall either didn't seem to hear or care as he went off to the warriors' den; Rainheart tilted her head in confusion. If Ashfall had heard Gentlestar, shouldn't he have brought her what she asked for? Rainheart had never been a queen, but imagined that it would be rather hard to walk when one was carrying pups. Rainheart decided to bring her former mentor some prey herself, and selected a somewhat plump hare. "Here you are, Gentlestar," she said, her voice muffled from the fur. She set down the prey at her leader's paws and sat down nearby in case Gentlestar wanted someone to talk to.

Tourmaline

avatar
Young Warrior
In her fury about ThunderClan, Tourmaline missed out on hearing her brother's words when he approached her. She was still angry about what had happened to Pandamask; it was obvious that ThunderClan was the cause. There had been no other scents other than those belonging to that Clan, which meant, in her opinion, that a ThunderClan wolf was responsible. By the time she realized that Jasperpaw was trying to speak to her, Silverfern entered the camp injured. Within moments her brother had left the camp, probably scared at the thought of battle. "Jas—" she called out, but he was already gone. Tourmaline shrugged slightly; Jasperpaw could take care of himself. Weedfang still wasn't back in camp, so the Australian Cattle Dog looked for someone else to speak to. She saw Carlos sitting off by himself and walked over to him. "Hey," she she started, sitting down nearby. "It seems like there's always one war or another going on," she added, guessing that a battle was the cause of Silverfern's injuries. Tourmaline really wanted to race over to the border and show those WindClan wolves just how capable SunClan was, but decided that Gentlestar wouldn't let her go. She put her thoughts away for the moment and focused back on Carlos.

Stoatblaze

avatar
Warrior
The orange-tan warrior had been sitting in the camp when he caught the scent of blood. Immediately he stood up to his paws, his dark blue gaze flitting about the clearing until he saw that it had been Silverfern who was injured. But how? He soon after caught scent of WindClan and let out a growl. How dare they attack them! That Clan was full of nothing but false accusations and hot-headed warriors. He didn't know that much about herbs and wasn't certain about how he could help, but Willowmist tended to Silverfern instead. WindClan truly is foolish to attack us when they have no medicine wolf. And cruel, as we have none either. He hadn't been certain if he should rush over and help, but caught the look Willowmist sent him before she took off from the camp. Did she want his help? "I can go help Willowmist with the herbs," he told Gentlestar before padding out of the cave. He took off towards the SunClan and WindClan border, assuming that was where the fight was taking place.

Gentlestar

avatar
Clan Leader
Gentlestar frowned at Ashfall as he told her to go mind her own business. All she was trying to do was make some small talk to maybe get his mind of the fact that Specklefrost was out there. She knew the worry that he must feel to have a mate out the fighting and all you want to do is go out there and help them. And what was wrong with asking for somebody to get her something to eat from the fresh kill pile. She was heavily pregnant and her paws started to ache from all the extra weight. She was about to get up and get her something when Rainheart got her a rather plump hare from the pile. She muttered a quick "thank you" before she hungrily devoured the fat creature. She then turned to her former apprentice. "So Rainheart how are you doing. When are you going to give this clan some pups and make Stoatblaze a grandpa im sure he would just love that." She said teasing the young warrior. But you couldnt miss the worry in her eyes for her mate and clanmembers that were out there fighting right now.

Rainheart

Young Warrior
Rainheart turned towards Gentlestar when the leader began to speak to her. "I'm doing well, Gentlestar. How are you?" she said. The leader's next words took her a bit by surprise; she blinked a bit embarrassedly before replying. "Oh, well, I'm not sure. I guess I just haven't found the right wolf yet," she said. Her amber gaze shifted to Oakstream as she spoke; she was quite fond of the other warrior and often felt a bit nervous when in his presence, worried that she might say something silly. She was worried that he might not feel the same way about her, though, and thus had hidden her feelings from him. "I did raise Sagepaw, however," she said idly, thinking of the wolf she considered as her daughter. Rainheart's gaze turned back to Gentlestar, and she frowned when she noticed the look in the leader's eyes. She supposed that she was worried about the fighting wolves, probably Pinedusk in particular. "I'm sure the others will be okay; they're all really skilled warriors. WindClan's probably running back to their camp by now," she said, trying her best to comfort Gentlestar.

Gentlestar listened to Rainheart and nosed her in gratitude. "Your right Rainheart they are, I just hope they arent injured to badly. There is only so much Willowmist will be able to do." When Rainheart had been talking about now finding the right wolf yet she noticed the young male that she glanced at and couldnt hide the sly smile that showed on her face. "Did you know that Pinedusk and I went a very long time before we finally admitted to each other that we held feelings for one another. All because we were to shy to ask. So my advice to you is go for it. You might actually be surprised at the answer you get." She told Rainheart knowing that pretty much the whole clan knew that Oakstream had feelings for Rainheart it seemed but her. "Yes you did raise Sagepaw. But its a different feeling when you are having the pups of the one you love. Because even when Pinedusk and I are long gone our legacies will remain through our pups." Gentlestar yawned and feeling very tired and knowing that she wouldnt be able to stay up until the patrol gets back. "Rainheart im going to go take a nap in the nursery, please wake me when the patrol gets back." She asked before she got up and made her way to the nursery where she had made a nest. She curled up in her nest and with her tail curled around her paws she drifted off to sleep.

Rainheart nodded slightly when Gentlestar replied about the fighting warriors; she hoped that Willowmist would be able to treat their injuries. If they were injured too badly... hopefully Twistedfoot or Nettlecloud were available. She looked back to Gentlestar when the leader continued to speak. "Really?" she said with some surprise. She was still worried about what Oakstream would say, but her mentor was probably right that it would be best to ask. Rainheart nodded once more as Gentlestar continued to speak. "I'll be sure to wake you up when they get back," she said as the leader began to walk away. Her amber gaze turned back to Oakstream, and she hesitated for a few moments longer before heading over to him. "Hi, Oakstream," she started. She paused, uncertain what she should say next. "So, um, how are you?"

Young Warrior
Pawsteps turned into cavernous distances, the ravenous sounds gone but still there. Weedfang wasn't supposed to be scared. She had seen battles, and could and had stomached them. She imagined fire and the ground rushing up to meet her; carnage in it's purest form, in her mind and her memories. Neither of those things had been there, and she found it hard to catch the wispy tail of pictures, but it kept playing back again and again.  In the least she could assure herself that they hadn't suspected her of disloyalty. The portrait of Windclan wolves had been there before even Silverfern had arrived. Perhaps they assumed she had stumbled upon them? That she had wandered off in what was a solo (hardly a) hunting party?

She found herself pacing a few fox-lengths away from the cave, glancing up every now and then, voices bouncing off the walls of rock and stone; causing her to flinch in surprise whenever one reached her ears. (Who was she kidding? Anyone could see she was guilty.) If worse came to worse, she would be banished. It would be much different than the last time. Time causes the heart to grow fonder, until it grows much too fond for it to bear. Strange thoughts and ministrations now daily endeavors. She huffed, her mind riddled with too many worries to be worried about, the idleness causing her paws and mind to itch for action. "But what's the best course of action...?"

The black and silver canine had been asleep a while, her body slowly healing the wounds she'd sustained, her dreams were unsettled throwing the wolf she'd fought through her mind. Paws twitching and whiskers moving, she struggled through the strange dreams that made little sense, waking up and feeling quite hot and uncomfortable thanks to the deep heat of greenleaf she managed to scramble up onto her silver paws. Shaking herself out Silverfern stared out of the medicine den, she wanted to get out of camp, the strange claustrophobic feeling sending her out of the den and into the larger cave of the camp. Really we should have been called Caveclan not Sunclan Silver mused to herself, she was still sore from the tussle stretching and feeling the scabbed over skin protest as she did so the warrior considered her options.

IT wasn't long before a decision had been come to, she'd visit the orchard she'd once gotten lost at as an apprentice. It was greenleaf after all so the air would be fragrant with dropping fruit, yes, getting up onto her feet she slipped out of camp taking care to make sure noone noticed her. She wanted to be on her own, away from her clan for a bit, with room to breathe.

An old friend walked into camp looking around. Her fur was matted from age but her eyes still held the mischief of a pup. She had missed this place dearly. Mossey wasn't sure what had changed at this point but she knew she could finally relax in her old age. She looked around for familiar faces and was sad to not see some old friends. She knew this would happen though for she had been gone for awhile.
