The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

The young wolf trotted up the black tuft of fur on his head bouncing intime with his step. He'd been told to meet here at Sunhigh so he'd made sure to get here at least ten minutes early. He looked around, he couldn't see his mentor anywhere, his brown eyes closed and he sniffed the air attempting to pick up any scent of his mentor incase he was trying to surprise him. Not smelling the distinctive scent the young wolf sighed with slight relief and stood there awkwardly awaiting Redwinds apperance.

The young warrior padded into the hollow, eyes staring the apprentice down. "You came early, good." He said as he padded closer. "I thought you'd like to learn hunting first. But of course, what the apprentice wants, the apprentice will get." He said with a distinct edge. He needed to access this apprentice. What could he do and what he really couldn't. But that would grow obvious with time. If he improved that is. "So, what will it be, Mustangpaw?" He drawled.

Keen ears and a sharp nose had picked up his mentors approaching paw-steps and scent. He fidgeted a little as Redwind began to speak, paying attention carefully, hunting sounded fine with him. He had yet to build up his strength enough to fight, and he supposed that learning to hunt would teach him stealth and surprise tactics so he gave a nod. An ear flicking at the obvious drawl, "Hunting sounds fine, sir" he said copying his mentors way of speaking without realizing it.

OOC: I just laughed at their interaction, but I suppose you want to get to the role-playing part of things!

The mentor gave a little frown, but was inwardly laughing. At who he didn't know, but it was funny to see the apprentice founder and sass best he could. Again, Redwind might know who he was laughing at, but he wasn't for sure.

The red wolf lashing his tail with a curt nod before turning to trot towards a good hunting destination. But he followed his nose more than his brain. "Hey, Mustangpaw." He called without looking behind him. He knew the apprentice was there. He wanted to learn quick, and Redwind doubted he would be slow, even if he did sort of hate Redwind's guts. "Got a favorite piece of prey? We may be thankful, but it's sort of nice to see what goes in your stomach also come under your paws." He commented, recalling his own love of voles. He mentally snorted, trying to keep his face placid and calm best he could. "And we can get started on some interests anyway." He added, making his own private comments about Fireflash.

Mustang watched him waiting and ready, the slight frown made him toss his head not unlike an impatient horse not caring if he'd failed at sassing or not. He wasn't blackpup, little annoying bogie that the pup was, his dark brown eyes flicked to his mentor after drifting away. When Redwind finally began to move Mustang kept close to him his movement smooth and surprisingly nice paces. The question made him think for a moment "Venison" he replied firmly and rather determinedly sounding. He supposed it would make sense to learn how to catch his favourite meal if anything it provided more of an incentive. Once his mentor had slowed down so did he, he paused inhaling through his nose eager to find something to hunt and bring down. Scents that he'd learnt from the fresh kill pile came to his nose, new leaf was finally upon them and plenty of prey leapt at him. A doe with a newly born baby that was merely moments old caused his tongue to swipe over his chops hungrily. He could smell a small bird that he'd often heard calling in the forest, a pheasant, he hated birds hated their feathers that got in the way of a tasty meal. The smaller prey like songbirds and squirrels he paid no attention to they wouldn't be enough for a single mouthful let alone a meal.
