The Four Clans

Season
Current Season: Greenleaf
Greenleaf has taken hold of the forest, marking an end to the pleasantly warm days of Newleaf. The temperature is now quite hot, at times unbearably so; most prey tend to take shelter during the hottest time of the day. Dangerous thunderstorms are possible and can happen with little warning. Will the heat of Greenleaf cause tempers to flare when tension is already running high in the Clans?

1 Shadesbury Town Square on Mon Apr 04, 2016 1:12 pm

[Idea by Lionpaw]

The Town Square is a busier part of this town. Many shops and businesses are on this road, such as the court house and various stores. You can say it's the shopping district of the town. Many celebrations and festivals are held on this street; and when those take place, this town can get VERY busy! People here are generally quite friendly; and if you're nice enough, the people and vendors in the market might just slip you a snack! Just stay away from the alleys; you don't want to run into anyone shady. More importantly, try to avoid the dog catcher!

The handsome dog who knew he was beautiful trotted through the square sniffing about at the various tables wondering if he'd be able to persuade a two leg to slip him something good to eat. He would dig through trash cans if he had to but he disliked doing such scummy things. He was Jaques Cadeauxheart not some random inbred mutt, carrying his tail out daintily behind him the infamous flirt finally was able to trick a two leg out of its lunch. he looked loved and owned which was how he avoided the dog catcher most of the time he'd just stand near a family and look like he was their pup. Settling down in the shade of a building he watched the busy tooing and frooing of the humans with modest curiosity in his beautiful brown eyes.

The furry young male bounded around, humming "Frere Jacques" happily to himself. Yes, he's actually Italian. No, he'd never admit it. He did live in beautiful France for quite a while, so why not consider himself French? Besides, he did take on the accent for the most part. It was only when he'd get overly excited or upset that he'd get the Italian in there. And there were the times he'd slip and speak Italian. Noticing the ice blue bow around his neck was slightly out of place, he fretfully adjusted it before looking around. The town was so unfamiliar to him, in it's Scandinavian looks and tradition. Nothing like Paris or Venice. Sighing sadly to himself, Slit padded up to a vendor. Whining pitifully, he tilted his head. The twoleg made that "awwww" sound, before throwing him a piece of hamburger. Happily, the papillon happily munched on the treat. Looking up, his blue eyes scanned the square. He saw another dog, a rather elegant one at that. 'A pure bred. Must be...' Slit thought, eyes narrowing.

The handsome dog who was infact a purebred thank you very much for noticing was happy to watch the town square and observe the two leggers. He watched as a small black and white dog with a very nice blue bow turned up and begged the hamburger man that the dog privately called old geezer. When the papilllions gaze focused on him he lifted his head from his paws and sent him a charming grin he hadn't seen him around before and Jaques prided himself on knowing most of the locals in this dingy old town. He watched the other french breed of dog wondering if he'd know any of the language of his homeland that he missed if he admitted it to himself.

Slit, who had laid down on the sidewalk, noticed the other dog sent him a charming grin. 'Flirt,' he thought, amused. Nonetheless, he got to his small feet and drifted towards the larger male. "Bonjour," he woofed, nodding to the canine. "I couldn't 'elp but notice you're a Beauceron. Tell me; you are French, no?" Slit made sure to keep his voice soft and silky, like the French. It used to be a challenge; Italians were loud and cheerful. Now, thankfully, his former accent was gone. His icy blue eyes looked over the male. Was he a house dog? He had no collar... But usually pure breds weren't strays. "Ahh, you must be, judging by zat dashing smile," the papillon purred, licking a delicate paw.

The handsome dog watched as the dainty male trotted over and began to speak, the familiar tones that he'd heard so often in his home country a silent relief. The Americans simply did not match to the chic style and elegance of his homeland, "Ahah your guess is quite correct Monsieur" his own voice was low and quite elegant, his brown eyes meeting the icy blue ones a slight laugh left him at the compliment dished out to him by the butterfly breed. His jaws parted as he returned the favour "It 'as been some time since i have talked with one so belle as yourself~" he murmured quietly watching the dainty toy breed clean one of its paws. The remarkably clean stray tilted his head "Je suis appelé Jaques, et toi?" He introduced himself formally naturally dropping back into his native language.

Slit smiled with satisfaction. He finally met another Frenchman! Putting down his tiny paw, the petit papillon looked up at the male when he complemented him. "You're quite ze charm, chéri," he chuckled, before the dog, Jaques, began speaking in their native language. "Un plaisir de vous rencontrer, Jaques. Je suis Tonio, si vous pouvez me appeler Slit," the papillon replied. He wondered if the Beauceron would ask about his Italian name. Slit knew what he'd tell him - 'I have an Italian owner who named me.' Personally, the small dog wished he was named Antoine or something. Tonio was short for Antonio. Antoine is the French variation of the name. Many other French dogs were named that...

The Beaucron merely shrugged when the smaller dog pointed out his charm, oh he was well aware of what charm he had. The tan and black dog listening carefully as Slit as he named himself spoke fluently in their shared tongue that was so much more elegant, refined, flirty than the harsh english words that he'd learnt whilst over here. He didn't press questions for why the dog was named Tonio after all it was none of his business and he liked to think of himself as a suave gentleman. He was enjoying the small dogs company very much, it had been such a long time since he'd had the pleasure of speaking with a fellow who hailed from his home country. A place of fine cuisine, gorgeous babes and fine wine as well as history

Slit neatly groomed a stray strand of fur, glancing around somewhat nervously. He heard stories about the dog catcher and the pound - both were absolutely dreadful. Looking back at the handsome hound, the papillon woofed, "Alors, où vivez-vous dans cette ville? Ou êtes-vous un chien errant?" The canine's ice blue eyes looked over the male - he seemed to be flawless. Surely he wasn't a stray! He wondered why the dog's owners didn't put a collar on him. Jaques wouldn't be identified and returned home by the dog catcher, among other reasons. There wasn't a house-dog out there who Slit saw without a collar!

He was snapped out of his thoughts of his homeland by the Papillion's voice demanding if he was a house-dog or a stray. He was quiet for a few moments before speaking "J'étais un chien de la maison , jusqu'à récemment perdu les humains quand nous avons déménagé dans ce pays" he replied smoothly his thoughts and feelings hidden behind the handsome flirty expression he normally wore. His humans weren't something he liked to think about these days he prevented himself from sighing showing such emotions towards a fellow canid wouldn't become him he had to be light, uncaring and flirty yes.

A thin tail wagged, her body bobbing along with it at something like a rhythm. Her fur thin, but not thin enough to let in the cold, but a shivering blink would give an observer pause. She gorged herself on the treasure trove before her. The cold, slimy starch of long stale fries sliding into her throat and over her tongue. But the nonessential chatter of whatever that was, caught her attention. She lifted her head, mouth full of a trophy prize meal, ears perking at this gibberish. Quincy herself didn't know hwo or why she picked it out form all the other squeaks and grunts of the Long-paws. "But Long-paws don't sound that weird." She thought, swallowing before moving to peer out into the flood of Long-paws moving along and past the square. She looked both ways before venturing into the flow, catching the attention of a small Long-paw pup, before it got pulled away by a bigger one. Only the faint thought of "Why didn't they remember me?" echoing in the back of her head. The Thai Ridgeback was a common visitor of the square. Why there wasn't anyone quite like her! No one but her family, but they'd managed to cut loose all of their ties and move on to bigger places. But Quincy liked small. It wasn't as lonely.

She finally emerged from the flood, finding her target. Or targets, really. Her ears pricked again as that gibberish began again and she stalked forward. "Never heard something like that before!" She said before looking down at the smaller toy dog. "Never seen anything like you, either..." She mused as she lowered her head to the dog's height. "Aaaaaaand, I've never met either of you, brutes!" She said, a happy glint to her eye and tail waving like a flag in a tornado. "What're you guys talking about anyway? Can you understand me?" She spoke leaning into the bigger dog's space.

Slit's head tilted when the larger dog spoke again. So he was a stray? How could a stray possibly be that... well... handsome? Weren't all strays mangy and filthy? He was about to voice his startled thoughts, when a brasher voice caused him to flinch and glare at the canine. "Oh regarde. Un Americain. Ils ne semblent pas pouvoir garder hors de l'entreprise. Bien sûr ..." He kept his voice pleasant, in hopes to dupe the large canine. He scooted back when the female approached him. "We understand you, yes," he woofed somewhat warily, tilting his head as he looked up at the newcomer.

It was lucky that Jaques thought himself as a ladies man and a flirt or he might have growled when the stranger leant into his personal space, instead he smiled winningly replying smoothly "Ou sur les espace personnel" his brown eyes flicking down to his fellow french speaking companion. He took a sharp step back to give himself some breathing room his brown eyes glittering with a cocktail of emotions. "yes we do... To whom do we 'ave the pleasure of speaking to?" he asked this time speaking in english. The handsome well groomed fellow who didn't look anything like a stray as he knew it was always important to take good care of ones looks perked his folded ears and watched the silver coloured she.

Slit's wary blue eyes looked over the she-dog. He snorted at Jaques's reply. He waited for the dog to answer, and when she didn't, he turned to his companion. "J'habite dans un manoir en banlieue," he woofed, pausing to adjust the slightly uncomfortable bow. "Vous voulez abandonner la mutt et y aller?" he continued, glancing at the dog. His owners were usually away at this time - not to mention, he loved showing off his abode. It was the finest in the town!

The dog frowned, being ignored and glared at. "Not the brightest star in the sky." She frowned, her eyebrows pinched together. Optimism was a very important part of life, and if not their's, it would be for her's! She could be optimistic of the fact they could at  least understand her! But she was silent for the fact that they were still talking in this weird gibberish that Quincy didn't understand. She couldn't even culminate any meaning from their body language. Her only question was, "Where do you hide all of that anger...?" She mused aloud, annoyance very clear on his face. But the other, taller dog didn't seem to mind. She'd stuff that self-consciousness elsewhere.

Slits words amused him a little, the smaller dog was very chic and it was quite enchanting. The dog who'd avoided ever having his ears shaved like many Beaucrons did, nodded "oui" his gaze flicked to the silver she wolf a charming smile flickering back onto his face. "pardon us mademoiselle, but we will 'ave to bid you adieu for now" his brown gaze remained on her as he finally added "I hope to see you again" winking at the other dog his gaze returned to slit "montrer la voie, Allons-y" the handsome black and tan brute waited for slit to lead the way It certainly was enchanting having a fellow frenchman to talk to again, and the shared language was another bonus.

Slit glanced back at the large she-dog, his gaze stony. He was rather biased, usually, against most dogs. Perhaps the only reason why he was talking to Jaques was because he was a fellow Frenchman. "Oui. Adieu, Mademoiselle," he softly woofed, before glancing up at the male. "Suivez-moi, alors," he said, before bounding off towards his home. The canine was secretly glad his brother was a stray, now; his twin was a proud Italian, who would definitely let it be known that he and Tonio weren't actually French.

Rain had kept her pace slow making sure that the awkward puppy that was travelling with her, glancing over her shoulder glancing around she had arrived just in time to see a fluffy little dog with a ridiculous bow around its neck tootle off with its snout in the air. It appeared to have been talking with a very..... handsome dog that was bigger than herself, he had charming features and was black and tan like herself. He was near a silvery dog who was also bigger than herself, most breeds were if she was quite honest, wondering what the deal was she grinned at Jules knowing his way of speaking was going to be great fun. She padded over to the two with a wag of her tail and a mischievous cheeky grin on her face.

"Where're we headed? How long're we gonna be? Will there be more tucker there? Is it gonna be a long walkabout? Have you been here before when you wander?" His voice was muffled by her tail, having been able to keep it in his mouth the whole time. He was quite proud of himself, not realising how sharp his needle like puppy teeth were. Seeing the new dogs, his puppy blue eyes widened in wonder. "Who're those fellas, Rain? They don't look like us."

Rain sighed ignoring the sharp puppy teeth in her tail, she also ignored all of his questions that poured into her ears. Once they got close enough she managed to get her tail out of his sharp toothed mouth. She ran her tongue over her tail checking that it was okay, "They're different breeds of dog to us" she informed the puppy with a light hearted sigh. She looked over at the silvery coloured female, with curiosity clear in her gaze before she looked back at the handsome dog with somewhat more curiosity.

"Raaaaiinnnnn." He didn't care that he was whining. She hadn't answered his questions. It wasn't fair. He plopped his butt on the ground, watching the other dogs curiously. "Why are they so big? Wha'ts a breed? Can I eat it for smoko? Rain, I'm peckish again."

He had moved to follow Slit when a pair of Kelpies trotted up, the female one raking her gaze over his body making him grin his own gaze flicking over her. He stepped around her a couple of times "I hope we will met again, alas for now I must go" the handsome hound glanced at the pup without much interest before he winked at him. He turned around on his four tan paws and began heading off after the papillion heading towards the uptown suburbs. The kelpie was interesting well the both of them were, perhaps mother and pup, he paused a moment hearing the pups question "A breed is what kind of dog we are, you and your cute lady friend are Kelpies, I am a Beaucron" he trotted off humming an old ballad to himself

She had to admit that she was a little confused as to where abouts she was, glancing around her dark brown eyes picked up all kinds of strange objects and things. The stink of two legs made her want to curl her lips, she flicked her tail with a soft sigh, she paused watching three dogs that were standing near each other. One appeared to be a pup, the adult kelpie was one that she recognized. She frowned and padded over her thoughts flickering all over the place, how had Rain gotten free? Perhaps her brother had, she stood near them watching Rain sharply taking little notice of the pup that was at her friends paws.

He just hmphed. Rain was too distracted, and he was still hungry. The arrival of a new dog made him bounce on his paws over to her, batting at her fluffy tail. It was so much fluffier than Rain's was, much more fun to try and catch. Maybe she'd answer his questions instead. "Who are you? Are you a 'breed'? You're not one like me and Rainy though. Do you know where there's any tucker? I'm still peckish. It has to be time for smoko now right? Pleeeeaseeeee. Why are you so fluffy?" He pounced on ehr tail, not catching it the first time, as he tripped over his big paws and tumbled to land on her front feet, looking up at her with wide puppy eyes.

Melissa didn't bother growling, when the pup went to bat at her tail she moved a paw and pushed the pup away roughly. Her ears twitched at the pups weird slang, "I do not understand what you are talking about" Her tail was moved away to be tucked underneath her rear "I am a wolf not a dog" she sighed glancing over at her old friend. The small pup was quite bewildering, she had never spent much time with pups and indeed had rarely played with anyone apart her brother.  The brown hued female wondered if her brother had managed to get a rise out of the orange eyed pack wolf.
